New rules adopted by the Federal Reserve Board will help protect you -- eventually -- from some of the credit card practices that drive up your costs, like unexpected rate increases, short payment periods, and the allocation of your payment only to the lowest interest balance. Finalized December 18, 2008, the rules give your credit card company until July 1, 2010 to change its ways. Read more »
