American's have been spending like drunken sailors. The culture of accumulation, which does nothing to assure happiness, has finally bitten Americans on the ass. Spurred on by rising housing values, Americans assumed they would go up up up like a beautiful balloon, forgetting Newton's Law of Gravity....

Chase claims I owe $175 in overdrafts. These were automatic deductions that I tried to cancel without success although I notified Chase. The process was a long procedure that took sometimes weeks from the vendors. I spoke to collector who advised me to called chase with his suggestions. Chase said their records showed the checks were paid. My name was sent to
the various credit bureaus.

What's wrong with overdraft fees? If you don't want to pay them, then be responsible and don't use more money than you have in your account! It's not a hidden fee and it's not as if we have the right to use their money for free.
